Bergerac is a hypnotist whose female subjects mutilate themselves after being hypnotized. One washes her face with acid, another takes a scalding shower, and a third ignites her hair with a lit burner. Behind the mutilations is Bergerac's assistant and wife, Hayes (the giant in THE ATTACK
