An engaging comedy told in flashback about a man, Williams, who dies and leaves three letters in his will. Addressed to the husbands of the women he had affairs with, the letters inspire some amusing reactions out of the three. Vera Caspary, who cowrote the script for THREE HUSBANDS, also adapted a similar story for the reverse of this film called LETTER TO THREE WIVES (1949). leave a comment

When deceased playboy Maxwell Bard dies, his three best poker buddies each receive letters from Maxwell, claiming that he has had an affair with each of their wives. Maxwell is granted his wish to watch from heaven as the three husbands scramble to discover if he's playing a joke on them, or if the affairs really did happen. A bright, well-acted, sophisticated comedy.
