Effervescent and spontaneous comedy about a conservative banker, Milland, and his spendthrift wife, Field, who live beyond their means, she charging everything in sight and running up ghastly bills. Their financial situations only start off the laughs, then Field decides to adopt a
child, a move Milland tries to block. This leads to battling and some wild scenes until Milland is confronted with the child who immediately softens his heart. Fast-paced and generally funny throughout.
