An early Columbia talkie, this film is not an earlier version of the 1937 John Ford classic. The title, HURRICANE, is derived from the name of the main character, played by Bosworth. The main action comes from the attempted mutiny by captain Bosworth and his sea-going henchmen when they are
left stranded. Also thrown in is a love angle between Brown and Hyams. The soundtrack has no musical background, just sound effects and dialog, and in scenes where both dialog and sound effects are present the sound effects win.
