Joe Kirkwood, Jr., pummels again as Joe Palooka in one of the lesser boxing comedies based on the exploits of Ham Fisher's comic-strip hero. This time, Joe and his erstwhile manager, Knobby (Leon Errol), do battle with a shady mayor and a dishonest fight promoter who have tricked a punchy
boxer, the eponymous Humphrey (Robert Coogan), into signing an unfair contract. The crooks are really interested in using Humphrey to manipulate Joe into putting his name on the dotted line, but don't bet on their scheme's working out.
