A pair of middle-class youngsters--12-year-old Desiante and his 14-year-old friend, Stocking--run away from home with Los Angeles as their destination. Along the way they meet hunter Dano and his retarded son, Gray, and later are befriended by a pot-smoking hippie couple who run a tavern. The first portion of the picture has a certain innocent quality, which is soon reduced to a nauseating, dated collection of rites-of-passage situations. Given the cliches of the script, newcomers Desiante and Stocking perform well under the rookie directing hand of former American Film Institute student Laurence. leave a comment
