Typical Don Knotts vehicle in which he is the bumbling assistant bookkeeper in the city hall of the small town of Dalton. Corrupt city officials Fennelly--who's so decrepit that he must be transported around town in an ambulance--Flynn, and Andrews have been stealing from the public till, so
they frame Knotts to take the fall. This leads to the usual spastic Knotts antics, but, aided by wholesome girl Joyce, he's able to clear his name. A computer named Leo, which undergoes a funeral and a disinterment, plays a role as important as that of any of the other characters. This was the
twitchy Knotts' fifth comedy for producer Montagne.
