Crude and cartoonish but bursting with infectious energy, this low-budget comedy about a night in the lives of a group black teenagers marked an auspicious debut from brothers Reginald and Warrington Hudlin. When Kid (Christopher Reid, from the rap duo Kid 'N Play) gets into a little trouble at school, his father (played by the late, great Robin Harris) grounds him.
