After saving the hulking lug Hatton (a non-actor afflicted with a grotesque gargoyle face) from drowning, mad Greenwich Village sculptor Kosleck carves a bust of the man, then decides to make use of Hatton's homicidal urges by sending him out after art critics. That's one way to insure good reviews. Off-beat and actually a pretty entertaining bit of horror on its own level. This was Hatton's first leading role and he would spend the next two years playing psychopathic killers before fading off into cinema history. leave a comment
