Jimmy Kristidis (Youngs), a brash professional soccer player for the New York Rockers, is removed from the lineup as a result of his hot-dog playing style, then suspended from the team for two months after he gives the coach (Leon Russom) a tongue lashing when his best friend, Vinnie Fortino (Billy Warlock), is left paralyzed by a game injury. Frustrated, Jimmy travels to Brazil, where he meets his hero, Santos, a retired soccer star (played by real-life retired soccer star Pele) and persuades him to help him with his game.
