British newspaper reporter Lane is chosen to be a guest journalist with a Chicago newspaper. While traveling via ship to his new assignment, he mistakes some ordinary travelers for hardened criminals. His problems are further compounded when he thinks an heiress is a cabaret crooner, causing the real singer to be kidnaped by some actual criminals. Lane ends up rescuing the girl, but missing a big scoop. He also misses any chance at comedy in this unfunny bit of fluff. leave a comment
