Hostage

Col. Tim Shaw (Kevin McCarthy) is a retired American officer living in Africa. His grandson Tommy (Gerhard Hametner) suddenly needs a kidney transplant in New York, so he and his mother (Nancy Locke) are put on the next DC-3 out, which also happens to carry several terrorists. As a whole, the film isn't bad, though the terrorists, supposedly Arabs, are all played unconvincingly by South Africans, and McCarthy seems to have totally lost whatever talent he showed in decades past. Filmed under the title of "Colt--Flight 802," HOSTAGE was released to video after a short theatrical release in the US.
