The Horse In The Gray Flannel Suit

1968, Movie, G, 112 mins

starstarstarstar
An overlong, tedious, and badly shot Disney picture starring Jones as a widower ad executive stuck with a lousy campaign for an aspirin called Aspercel and a bill for $900 that was run up by his daughter, Janov, whose hobby is riding horses at an expensive stable run by Baker. Hit with a brain storm to solve both his problems, Jones decides to buy a horse, name it "Aspercel," and have Baker train his daughter to ride the horse at shows as a promotional device. The horse does well at shows but the advertising revenue is disappointing. By accident Jones discovers that the horse is a great runner and jumper and enters the nag in a championship steeplechase jockeyed by Baker. Of course, after a painfully long steeplechase scene (clocked at 26 minutes), the horse wins, and all problems are solved. leave a comment
