Sick little film starring Gough as a frustrated writer of mystery novels. Believing that the public will respond to real-life gore, Gough decides to perpetrate unusual and imaginative killings and then use this fresh, first-hand material to write fiendishly explicit novels. He throws a hypnotic spell over his faithful assistant Curnow, turning him into a lumpy-faced monster that does the writer's evil bidding. The murders are committed with a variety of gadgets including a pair of binoculars that plunge two steel spikes into the victim's eyes; a guillotine hidden above a girl's bed; and ice tongs that impale the victim.
