The comedy team of Wheeler and Woolsey star as a pair of bumbling insurance investigators who help young Miss Lee restore a run-down hotel she has inherited. Lee falls in love with Wheeler against her mother's (Howland) wishes (Mom wants her to marry lawyer Harolde), but when Howland herself falls for Woolsey, she is helpless to protest.
