Warren Douglas is a young hitchhiker who accidentally comes upon a murder. Later he is found dead, having apparently committed suicide, but Robert Douglas, a homicide cop, knows better. He takes time off his regular job to investigate. The trail leads him to the desert hideout of some tough
gangsters, led by Alda. It's an intriguing little film up until the investigation begins and then quickly becomes a formula piece. The direction is average, though the fight between detective Douglas and Alda is nicely handled. The romance between the detective and Westcott is minor and
unbelievable.
