Lynn is an ex-politico, defeated after two years in office. He is convinced that big business is behind his defeat. After becoming editor of his uncle's newspaper, he tries to expose big business as a massive, all-controlling power monster. But when his little sister is buried in a cave-in, it's the town's largest company that saves the day. The company president flies the girl to the state capital for life-saving surgery after the firm's machinery digs her out of her predicament. Lynn changes his tune quickly. The film was sponsored and supervised by John K. Ford, head of General Motors film division. The overt theme of big business championing itself over liberals is repeated throughout the film. Try to ignore the lumbering message and watch for an early appearance by Monroe. leave a comment
