O'Brien is a rich easterner who discovers his father murdered after a polo match. After going through his father's papers, he discovers that the family name originally may have been different, and finds evidence that causes him to believe western rancher Kirkwood may know something about the death. He flies out West but loses control of his plane, crashing into Eilers' bathroom. She falls in love with him after this unusual meeting, which causes her sweetheart, ranch foreman Bogart, to become jealous. Meanwhile, Kirkwood orders Bogart and Fields to bring in O'Brien unarmed. But O'Brien escapes and meets Kirkwood for a showdown, where he learns that Kirkwood is his real father. He had killed the other man accidentally after going East for a reckoning with the man who stole his wife and son. Probably best viewed as an historical curiosity, with Bogart playing a minor part as a cowboy in one of his earliest films. leave a comment
