Hollywood Vice Squad

Director Penelope Spheeris turns in her flattest movie yet, recycling one cliche after another, interspersed with some of the lowest cop jokes this side of the POLICE ACADEMY films. Three different story lines occupy the running time, coming together only in the person of squad chief Cox. One story concerns a worried mother Devere, who comes to Hollywood looking for her runaway daughter. The girl has fallen in with Gorshin, a pimp who turns his girls into heroin addicts before turning them out onto the streets.
