St. Jacques is a black ex-con who escapes from prison after doing time for a murder he didn't commit. He meets McCarthy, who offers him cash and safety in exchange for murdering his wealthy wife. St. Jacques declines and instead reminisces about his lost love, McNair. Realizing that he still wants her, he returns to McCarthy for his chance at freedom. He cons McCarthy into taking his wife, Wynter, to a mountain cottage, safely getting past the police roadblocks. When St. Jacques gets his chance, he escapes, taking Wynter with him. They flee to the home of St. Jacques' brother, who they find is married to McNair. With McNair's help they set out to find the real murderer and are led to Dano, the dead girl's stepfather. After a bloody shoot-out, McCarthy is killed, Dano is arrested, and St. Jacques is in the clear. Unfortunately, this picture relies on the exploitation of sex and race to bring forth any message it may have. leave a comment
