Agar, in this strange B picture, is a death row inmate who wants female companionship as his last request. The police get him Moore, a suicidal hooker with nothing left to lose. After spending the night together they fall in love and have the prison chaplain marry them. He goes off to the
gallows with a sense of peace, but before he goes he mentions a dream he has had, in which the rope breaks at the hanging, the death bell rings, and he is pardoned. As Moore prays for this miracle, the bell rings and the film fades out. Despite occasional overacting by the two leads, the film
works well in its own quirky way.
