Hit Parade Of 1951

This was the last entry in Republic's five-picture "Hit Parade" series, and the first since 1947. Gambler Carroll opens the film by losing $200,000 to fellow card-shark Withers, who gives him 48 hours to cough up the money. Desperate, Carroll tumbles across his exact double (also Carroll) who is a crooner for the "Hit Parade" and switches roles with him. Gambler Carroll begins to enjoy the adoration of his double's female fans (something the effeminate Carroll apparently didn't take advantage of), while crooner Carroll begins to rack up lots of chips at the gambling tables.
