This was the last entry in Republic's five-picture "Hit Parade" series, and the first since 1947. Gambler Carroll opens the film by losing $200,000 to fellow card-shark Withers, who gives him 48 hours to cough up the money. Desperate, Carroll tumbles across his exact double (also Carroll) who is a crooner for the "Hit Parade" and switches roles with him.
