A good Abbott and Costello film that has many laughs and and that finds the boys in the prime of their career. The story has them as a couple of press photographers who get implicated in a bank robbery. They evade arrest and head west to Sun Valley. Arriving with them is Simms, a singer, and the Johnny Long Orchestra, who have an engagement at a winter resort. The boys get jobs as waiters and try to elude bank robber Leonard and his two thugs, who have followed them out there. Many humorous episodes occur in the ice and snow, until Abbott and Costello end up capturing the robbers and recouping the money. A very lavish sequence on ice is well done, as are four songs performed by Simms. Songs include "I'm Like a Fish Out of Water," "Happiness Bound," "I'd Like to Set You to Music," and "Slap Polka" (Harry Revel, Paul Francis Webster). leave a comment
