Student thespian Jason Andrews (Ken Steadman) falls for the older but attractively zaftig Joanne (Kathy Shower), wife of film studio exec Vincent Lehman (John Phillip Law). Impulsively, he pressures her to leave her gilded cage and marry him. Despite his habitual claims of love, however, Jason has a penis that points like a divining rod at whoever's available. After he unexpectedly picks up well-heeled fox Cassandra (Cyndi Pass) in a bar, this hunk's suddenly torn between two rich women. The more Cassandra advances his career, the more he neglects Joanne. Not only does Cassandra get him an agent and a screen test, she also encourages him to sow his wild oats at sex clubs. When push comes to shove, Jason rebuffs Joanne on the night of their elopement and proposes to Cassandra instead. Unfortunately, he's too self-absorbed to even consider that someone else may be picking up Cassandra's tab, or that he deserves to pay a price for his cad-like behavior. In the 90s, soft-core has become increasingly preachy; the characters used to have a ball balling, but now they prattle about their feelings and get bad karma for infidelity. Excruciatingly acted and shot on a G-string budget, this modern morality tale acts like a soporific. It's not soft-core, it's soft-bore. And because the source of Jason's comeuppance — Joanne's cuckolded spouse — is apparent, the film's big payoff fizzles.
