High Time

This dull musical has one saving grace, Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen's Oscar-nominated standard "The Second Time Around." Bing Crosby is Harvey Howard, a rich Howard Johnson-type restauranteur with a string of eateries. A 51-year-old widower with two grown children, he feels he's missed something by not going to college, so he enrolls in a local university. Once at the school, he has to endure fraternity initiation rites and dress in drag as an aged Scarlett O'Hara to attend a ball--the film's comic highlight.
