High Tide At Noon

Fairly dull travelog-type drama detailing the trials and tribulations of life on a lonely and harsh island off Nova Scotia. Most of the residents are lobster fishermen, and one of them, Sylvester, romances St. John, the daughter of Knox, who owns much of the island. It is not until after they are married that St. John learns of Sylvester's nasty gambling habits, and soon he has lost their nest-egg leaving them destitute. These developments, combined with a bad economy, eventually force most of the islanders to seek refuge on the mainland.
