Hang ten! Disney Channel is moving from high school to the seashore for its next song-and-dance extravaganza, Teen Beach Musical. A modern-day take on the classic beach musicals of the 1960s, the new Disney Channel original movie will premiere sometime in 2013.

"The fact that I'm here today is because of the fans of High School Musical and the fans of that character, and I felt like I owed it to them to have a really good ending for her," she tells TVGuide.com.
Sharpay was quite the mean girl in the first two films of the Disney franchise. In the final movie, after getting rejected from Julliard, she decides to remain in New Mexico and help her teacher, Ms. Darbus, run the drama department.
