Montgomery is a fugitive who flees the Big Apple and heads for Connecticut. He falls in love with O'Sullivan, but the law soon catches up with the woosome twosome and drags Montgomery back to serve his time. The ending is upbeat, however, as he hints that he'll return after his prison stint.
A very young Mickey Rooney delivers the only noteworthy performance. The film earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Story, but lost to MANHATTAN MELODRAMA.
