Radio star Pearce plays a dual role as himself and a door-to-door salesman. Pearce and friends have a radio show sponsored by Harris' father, and when Pearce decides that Harris isn't right for the show, her father pulls out. Searching for a sponsor, Evans finances a trip to a New York City radio station so she can sing with the band. The group lands a gig at a nightclub in New York, which nets them a sponsor and a happy ending. Slight story but plenty of slapdash fun and laughs. Songs: "Straighten Up and Fly Right" (Nat "King" Cole, Irving Mills), "Don't Be Afraid to Tell Your Mother" (Pinky Tomlin, Coy Poe, Jimmie Greer), "You're So Good To Me" (Sammy Cahn, Jule Styne), "Hitch Old Dobbin to the Shag Again" (J.C. Lewis, Jr., Judd Conlon), "Put on Your Old Grey Bonnet" (Stanley Murphy, Percy Wenrich). leave a comment
