In this film, the third in Disney's Herbie series, the famous car is joined by its original owner from THE LOVE BUG, Dean Jones. McEveety takes over the directing duties from Robert Stevenson, who directed THE LOVE BUG and HERBIE RIDES AGAIN. McEveety can't match Stevenson's sense of comic
timing and handling of slapstick humor, but he still manages to make HERBIE GOES TO MONTE CARLO an entertaining children's film. Jones takes Herbie to France for the Paris-Monte Carlo rally. Herbie falls in love with a Lancia and stops Marin from stealing the most beautiful diamond in the world
from a museum.
