Williams, the secretary to prominent English politician Sullivan, is in love with his employer's daughter, Stewart. The politician recently married a woman who sent Williams' father to prison for a crime that she committed. The father and step-mother are against Stewart's plans to wed Williams, and this puts the young man's job in jeopardy. When Williams forces the step-mother to sign a confession that she actually committed the crime, she dies of a heart attack. Williams is sent to trial for murder, but is eventually cleared of all charges and is free to marry his love. leave a comment
