Darrieux is an orphan who answers a lonely hearts ad, then sneaks out from the orphanage to meet her prince, who turns out to be a college professor. He tells her he is fronting for the real writer of the ad, then takes her to his all-boys school so she doesn't get in trouble for returning late to the orphanage. The fun begins when the professor attempts to hide Darrieux's presence from the boys, one of whom he later introduces to her as the authentic writer of the ad. But when Darrieux and the young man fall in love, it is revealed that the professor actually wrote the ad, and is himself in love with the girl. The end sees the students raise enough money to get Darrieux out of the orphanage. She leaves with her youthful boy friend and the professor gives the couple his blessing.
