Payne loses his job as a district attorney because of his drinking problem, then begins working as a bouncer at a Las Vegas casino. Sullivan offers him $5,000 to find a missing ruby that may have been lost in a plane crash in the Caribbean. He soon learns that he was given this job because his ex-fiancee is married to the man who is suspected of sabotaging the plane.
