Small-time stock actor M.E. Clifton James plays himself in this true story of a junior British army officer who bears an uncanny resemblance to Gen. Montgomery. He is trained by Mills and studies every minute detail of the general's personality. This army intelligence plan sends James on a
tour of North Africa, causing the Nazis to divert their forces, which in turn helps the British invading troops. The climax comes to a head when James, kidnaped by the Germans, is rescued and returned to safety (and a future in film).
