Another of those futuristic, postapocalyptic science fiction dramas, HELL COMES TO FROGTOWN features a retired professional wrestler, a couple of good-looking babes, some familiar faces, and a bunch of giant frogs. Wrestler Piper is one of the last fertile males in the world and a notorious outlaw. As the film opens, he has been captured and is being beaten for raping a young woman but is rescued by Medtech, an agency charged with repopulating the world, and is fitted with an electronic codpiece to control his sexual urges and ensure that he doesn't waste his precious procreative capacity consorting with infertile women. He is then forced to go on a dangerous mission into mutant territory to rescue some fertile women who have been captured by Frank, the frog ruler of Frogtown. Originally slated as a $150,000 straight-to-video picture, HELL COMES TO FROGTOWN eventually was budgeted at $1 million when New World and Bergman became involved. When the film was finished, however, New World's feature division took one look and lost interest. After one brief booking in Texas, it went straight to video. leave a comment
