Ford, a gunfighter-turned-preacher in a small western town, becomes caught up in a battle between cattlemen and sheepherders. An Indian sheepherder is lynched by Carradine, whose father is cattle baron Anderson. The preacher gets the town together to try to work out a peaceable solution.
Cannon, an ex-con who shared a cell with Ford, exposes the preacher's true identity at the meeting. The townspeople still stand behind Ford, and together they stop the bloodshed. A bland western.
