One of the better Canadian tax-shelter pictures, HEARTACHES features Annie Potts as Bonnie, the well-meaning wife of Stanley Howard (Robert Carradine), a drunk who wastes his time racing cars. Rather than tell her husband that she's carrying another man's child, Bonnie leaves Stanley. On her way to the big city she meets Rita (Margot Kidder), a tough loudmouth, and reluctantly travels with her.
