Director Allegret again cast Morgan, after her debut in ORAGE, as an outcast girl acquitted of the murder of her boy friend. Raimu is an elderly juror who befriends her and lets her stay in his bourgeois home. This upsets the family's balance and causes his son to take extreme measures.
Raimu, who gained fame in Maurice Pagnol's triology (MARIUS, FANNY, CESAR) is exceptional, as is Morgan who also starred in THE FALLEN IDOL. (In French; English subtitles.)
