Gargan is a newsreel photographer who devotes more time to capturing reality than to the woman who loves him, Dee. She turns to the more dependable Bellamy, and soon is with them both when they are trapped by a flood. There's also a confrontation with a gang of mobsters, during which Dee
decides that the adventurous newsreeler is her man. By incorporating some exciting newsreels of actual fires, earthquakes, and floods, the final product becomes as interesting as those events Gargan documents.
