Sliding panels and secret passages are the most intriguing part of this haunted house, which suffers mainly from weak direction. Conklin and Finch are the easily frightened pair adapted to the screen from the 1924 Broadway play of the same name, though here amended considerably. This
picture features no dialog, just post-synched sounds and songs. The sleepwalking Southern delivers a pair of ditties in which she seems to be mouthing a different song than what we hear.
