Gould and Caan are a couple of talentless vaudeville performers thrown into jail on a petty theft charge. There they meet master thief Caine, and are soon involved in a scheme with him to pull off a major bank robbery. Though the recreation of New York of the 1890s is well done, this is a
stunningly inept film. A meandering screenplay, choppy editing, and badly defined characters combine to undermine whatever potential for humor this film might have had.
