Harrigan's Kid

1943, Movie, NR, 80 mins

starstarstarstar
Youngster Benny McNeil (Bobby Readick) becomes the protege of an unsportsmanlike ex-jockey (William Gargan) who teaches him the ins and outs of racing--and cheating. By the film's end, though, Tom (Gargan) is the one who's learned his lesson, and Benny decides to play it straight in the climactic big race. Gargan isn't particularly believable, Readick has a propensity for overacting, and HARRIGAN'S KID is mediocre. leave a comment
