The Harder They Come: Review

This raw but outstanding Jamaican feature became a major cult favorite and did much to popularize reggae, thanks to a fabulous musical score. Reggae star Jimmy Cliff stars as an aspiring singer who arrives in Kingston with high hopes of becoming a recording star. Money is hard to come by, however, and even after he gets the chance to record a single (the classic title track) for a sleazy producer, Cliff has no choice but to get involved in the dangerous marijuana trade.
