The Hard Man

Madison is a Texas Ranger who resigns after he gets a reputation for bringing them back dead. He takes a job as deputy sheriff and quickly becomes embroiled in a range war against Greene, a rancher intent on taking over the whole range. He also begins an affair with French, Greene's wife, who wants Madison to kill her husband for her. She ends up doing the job herself. This western seems caught between the old-fashioned oaters of the 1930s and 1940s and the modern westerns of the 1950s and 1960s. The result is only mediocre.
