Pretentious claptrap clothed in a 1984 rock-music love story that never goes beyond the superficial. Springfield is a highly successful rock songwriter-performer. While driving in his car, he meets Eilber, a tense child psychologist. The two quickly fall in love, and he pursues her around San Francisco until he catches her. Interspersed with the insipid love story is a subplot about Springfield's having songwriter's block. This teeny-bopper picture is too juvenile even for teens. Scuttlebutt around the industry had it that several salacious scenes had to be trimmed to escape the dreaded R rating that would have kept youngsters out of the theaters. They stayed away of their own accord once the word got out. leave a comment
