Inspired by the success of films like THE MALTESE FALCON, Monogram stuck the Bowery Boys in this mystery, in which Gorcey and Hall are mistaken for detectives by the mysterious Compson, who hires the boys to find a missing woman. Gorcey finds the woman, Loring, but realizes that she has
absolutely no connection with Compson. Loring mentions a man, Seymour, but doesn't elaborate. Gorcey finds the man and discovers that he is a fortune-telling mobster. It is learned that Seymour uses the fortune-telling as a ruse to get private information about people and then blackmail them.
Needless to say, the boys trap the crook and bring him to justice. This was the last Bowery...
