American boy Clark runs away from his Swiss boarding school, trying to reach father Kelly in Paris. The boy wants to prove to his father that he is self-sufficient enough to live in Paris with him. Fossey, a student at the same school who has a crush on Clark, goes along to act as interpreter. Kelly and Laage, Fossey's mother, meet at the school and take an instant dislike to each other.
