A thin plot about a Mississippi showboat saved from bankruptcy by a charity show is just the excuse Fox needed to troop out just about every star on the lot for a brief turn in front of the camera. Among the numbers, Gaynor and Farrell sing "We'll Build a Little World of Our Own" (James Hanley, James Brockman), Whispering Jack Smith whispers "Happy Days," and Sharon Lynn sings "Snake Hips" (Con Conrad, Sidney Mitchell, Archie Gottler) while Ann Pennington shows how it's done. Other numbers include "Mona," "Crazy Feet" (Conrad, Mitchell, Gottler), "Minstrel Memories," "I'm on a Diet of Love" (L. Wolfe Gilbert, Abel Baer), "A Toast to the Girl I Love," "Dream on a Piece of Wedding Cake" (Hanley, Brockman), "Vic and Eddie" (Harry Stoddard, Marcy Klauber).
