Forsythe, a big-city newsman, and his wife, Young, purchase a small California newspaper and try to make it a successful operation. With a couple of old-time typesetters, they do their best with the town's meager news, putting various births, including their own daughter's, on page one. To boost circulation, they print contests and eventually try to bring rain to the drought-stricken community. When the rains do come, Forsythe is given all the credit for what is actually only a coincidence. He also gets all the blame when the showers become floodwaters. The couple, accepting the blame, prepares to move. But a weather expert saves the day by showing up and explaining that the storm had nothing to do with their efforts. Young is excellent in her final screen appearance. leave a comment
