Mansfield is cast as a Greek actress who announces she'll marry the winner of the 26-mile marathon at the 1896 Olympic Games in Athens, the first such competition in 2,672 years. Thinking that her lover, Minardos, will emerge victorious, she is sure of the outcome until a poor shepherd, Colton, crosses the finish line first.
